Two new titles are moving up the independents' bestseller charts nationwide: a collection of stories, Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage by Alice Munro, and Churchill: A Biography by Whitbread Prize winner Roy Jenkins. Knopf's first printing for Munro was 75,000 copies, and the reviews have been excellent. It has been named one of the nine best books of the year by the New York Times Book Review. Acclaimed by the British press as "the biography of the year," U.S. reviews for Churchill have also been stellar. Farrar, Straus & Giroux has printed 90,000 copies.
