Kudos to Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, authors of The Nanny Diaries, the new #1 fiction title. Not only did the pair pen an original novel that offers voyeurs an inside look at how the very wealthy juggle their posh social lives and child-rearing (they don't), but they were excellent spokespeople who quickly became media stars. The SMP book pubbed on March 13 with a buzz strong enough to quickly deplete the 25,000 first printing; at that time, three more trips to press brought the in-print figure to 110,000. A month later, there are 12 printings and a whopping 510,000 copies in print. The publisher has extended the authors' tour and reports bookings into the summer.
