Running Press has added several new people to its staff, filling vacancies and expanding certain segments. The highest ranking new appointment is that of Michael Ward, who was named editorial director, succeeding Jennifer Worick, who resigned. Ward, who will join Running Press in October, most recently served as associate publisher of Regnery's Lifeline Books division. Before joining Regnery, Ward had served in editorial roles at F&W Publications and Rodale Books.

To help broaden its children's book publishing program, Running Press has hired Andra Serlin as a children's editor. Serlin has held editorial spots with Highlights for Children, Dial Books and HarperCollins. Earlier this year, Running Press appointed Liz Shiflett as a new editor in the children's book unit.

The company has also added a new director of distribution, Craig Reider. He was most recently with Chelsea House Publishers.
