Everyone in the book business knows Carl Lennertz, former book publicist extraordinaire and for the past couple of years in charge of the Book Sense program that unites independent booksellers behind a host of worthy new books by often untested writers. Now he's about to join their ranks with his own book, the ramblingly titled A Letter to My Daughter: And Other Things I Wish I Had Said (Sooner) to Family, Friends and Teachers Along the Way. The buyer was Shaye Areheart at Crown, just named to head Harmony Books, and the agent was Sarah Burnes at Burnes & Clegg, who said of the book, it's "part memoir, part parenting, part inspiration—and wholly Carl." For those legions that know him, enough said.
