Bestselling author Michael Connelly is best known on these charts for his Harry Bosch mysteries; the eighth, City of Bones, had a six-week run last spring. His latest, Chasing the Dime, is a stand-alone thriller inspired by 14 desperate phone messages Bosch received for a young woman named Julie, who apparently had the number before him and had now gone missing. MGM bought the film rights before Connelly had written more than a few pages. Little, Brown reports 350,000 copies in print after three trips to press and the author is on tour through November 6, visiting 14 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
