A new six-book contract for suspense author Iris Johansen at Bantam will see the author's two-a-year title production set there until the end of 2006 (her current contract covers two books next year, Dead Aim and Bait and Switch). The North American-plus-audio deal was signed by the house's Nita Taublib with Andrea Cirillo at the Jane Rotrosen agency, and was a multimillion-dollar one. First of the books under it, to be edited by Bill Massey, will be Firestorm, in 2004. Meanwhile, Johansen is planning a collaboration with her son Roy Johansen, who also publishes with Bantam.
