Vanity Fair cultural critic James Wolcott is furious with the American media for what he sees as their supine attitude toward President Bush and his administration. He aims to make it public with a book called Attack Poodles and Other Media Mutants, in which Fox News will be only one of the TV stations and newspapers that receive the back of his hand. Miramax's Jonathan Burnham won the bidding in an auction conducted by Elyse Cheney at Sanford Greenburger, and plans to publish in late spring. Meanwhile, Wolcott's next book, Personal Attacks, is due out imminently from HarperCollins.
