For more than 30 years, Fred Rogers offered children wisdom and comfort via his TV show, Mister Rogers Neighborhood. He died this past February, before his The World According to Mister Rogers: Important Things to Remember was published, but his wife, Joanne Rogers (until now a very private person), who wrote the foreword, is doing publicity for the book, including a national TV satellite tour in early November. A&E is planning a biography of the beloved TV host to air next March. Hyperion president Bob Miller knew Rogers for many years and came up with the idea for this book. The first printing was 60,000 and subsequent trips to press bring the total to 200,000. Proceeds from the book's sales are going to the Fred Rogers Fund, which promotes children's development.
