Jim Ulsamer, whose 30-year career at Baker & Taylor included numerous management positions, will retire at the end of the year. Ulsamer, 53, is currently president of B&T's retail division.

Ulsamer told PW he has no other plans than to move to Florida where he recently bought some land. "People are reading all sorts of things into this, but I really am retiring," Ulsamer said. B&T was acquired by Willis Stein this summer, and in September laid off 150 people. Ulsamer said he had been thinking about retiring for a while and felt the time was right. A search for his successor is under way.
