Veteran Star Wars writer James Luceno, who—with Del Rey Books and Lucasfilm Ltd.—helped to create Star Wars: The New Jedi Order nearly five years ago, has brought the series to a triumphant close with the final volume, Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: The Unifying Force. Star Wars fans are getting a lot more than a book—Unifying Force contains a CD-ROM featuring an unabridged Adobe e-book edition of the novel that launched the series, Vector Prime by R.A. Salvatore (yes, he's the guy who killed off Chewbacca). Del Rey supported the book—which had a 130,000-copy first printing—with radio and online author interviews and a six-city New Jedi Order author tour to Seattle, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego and Washington, D.C. The tour featured trivia contests, giveaways of limited-edition New Jedi Order baseball caps and Hasbro Star Wars action figures.
