Penguin USA has provided some details on the new imprint that Laureen Rowland is starting. Rowland, who joined Penguin from the David Black Agency last spring, will oversee the newly named Hudson Street Press.

Penguin said the list will eventually consist of about 30 nonfiction titles per year, with the first ones coming next winter. Among its inaugural titles are a memoir by actress Teri Garr on her multiple sclerosis and a tale of competitive birding. Many of Hudson Street's paper editions will stay in-house; Plume will bring out many of HS's books.
