One of the most high-profile openings in publicity has been filled. Scribner has announced that Suzanne Balaban, an assistant director of publicity for Morrow, will replace Pat Eisemann as its director of publicity. Balaban also has roots in the TV world—she has been a producer and editor for the BBC and for the U.K.'s Channel 4.

The job has been open since June, when Eisemann left after more than a decade on the job. The house had reportedly considered a number of well-regarded publicity figures in the relatively long period since Eisemann's departure. Balaban will report to Scribner publisher Susan Moldow.
