The story of a journalist and documentary filmmaker, Micah Garen, who was held captive for 10 days by Iraqi militants and threatened by death at one point, before his colleague and fiancée, Marie-Helene Carleton, managed to pull the right strings to get him released will be told in a book just signed by Geoff Kloske at Simon & Schuster. Garen and Carleton were making a documentary about the theft of antiquities in Iraq when Garen was seized while Carleton was away in the States; the book will tell the swift-moving tale of his captivity and rescue from both points of view. The world English rights deal was made with Richard Abateat ICM, and publication is set for fall next year.
