Judy Corman, who directed Scholastic's communication's department since 1999, died November 15 at age 65. While at Scholastic, Corman spearheaded the media campaigns for the Harry Potter titles, and also helped direct promotion for new educational technology programs. Before joining Scholastic, Corman was a senior v-p at Robinson, Lerer & Montgomery, where her accounts included Penguin/Putnam, Simon & Schuster and America Online. She began her career at Epic Records and also was director of public relations at Phoenix House. "We have lost a friend and trusted adviser," said Scholastic chairman Dick Robinson. Corman was married to author Avery Corman and was the mother of two sons.
