Advanced Marketing Services has made two promotions in recent weeks to fill posts in its upper management ranks. Last week, AMS named Curtis Smith executive v-p and chief financial officer. Smith joined AMS in May as controller after serving as a consultant to the company for several months. He succeeds Bruce Myers, who replaced Charlie Tillinghast as president and CEO in mid-November.

In an earlier appointment, AMS promoted Adam Zoldan to executive v-p and chief marketing officer. Zoldan joined AMS in 1995 and most recently was executive v-p, wholesaler/retailer services. In the newly created post, Zoldan will be responsible for domestic wholesale merchandising plus related product sales and marketing. He will also create AMS's new international sales and marketing strategies.
