Morse Up at McGraw-Hill

Amy Morse has been promoted from senior director of marketing to v-p of marketing. Morse will have management supervision over marketing, public relations and sales support; she'll report directly to Keith Fox, president of McGraw-Hill Professional.

Penfield Rises At Penton

James Penfield has been promoted to v-p of sales at the West Coast publisher/distributor Penton Overseas. Penfield, who's been in the business for more than 20 years, has held positions at AMS, Macmillan and National Book Network.

Felman Joins S&S

Dedi Felman has been hired as a senior editor. Felman, who's spent the last seven years at Oxford University Press, has worked with authors Jacob Hacker, Cass Sunstein, Derrick Bell and Thomas Mann. She is also the v-p and editor of the online magazine for international literature in translation Words Without Borders.

Parham to RPS

Simone A. Parham has joined Ryland Peters and Small as director of gift and special sales. Parham, who's spent the last three years running her own company, previously managed gift and special sales at Houghton Mifflin and Rockport Publishers.

DK Gets Giorgio

Kristen Giorgio has been named marketing manager at DK Publishing. Arriving from Simon & Schuster, where she was marketing manager for Scribner and Touchstone/Fireside, she's worked on campaigns for such titles as the 75th Anniversary Edition of The Joy of Cooking and Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman.

Daneman to FSG

Kathy Daneman is joining Farrar, Straus & Giroux as publicity manager. She was formerly publicity director at Soho Press. Colleen Lindsay, formerly of Ballantine, will succeed Daneman at Soho.
