Todd C. McCarty has been named senior v-p of global human resources at the Reader’s Digest Association Inc. McCarty, who arrives from Rite Aid, succeeds Lisa Cribari.

Dave Piper has joined Lightning Source Inc., as deputy managing director for Lightning Source UK. Piper arrives from Beiersdorf UK Ltd., where he served as operations director.

Sally Marvin has been promoted from publicity director to v-p in the Random House Publishing Group. Marvin joined the RH publicity department in 1997.
Schluep, Clayton Up at Del Rey
Chris Schluep and Keith Clayton have been promoted at Del Rey. Schluep has been named senior editor and Clayton is now editor and licensing manager.
Linn, Pollert to S&S
Laurent Linn and Annette Pollert have both joined Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. Linn, who was most recently at Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, has been named art director. Pollert has been named editorial assistant for Simon Pulse; she was executive assistant to the president of Viking/Plume.

Jackie Montalvo has been named assistant editor at Doubleday Broadway. Montalvo arrives from Vintage Español.
