Gedymin Up At Author Solutions

Diane Gedymin has been named editorial director at Author Solutions. Gedymin, who will oversee editorial for all of AuthorHouse’s brands, including iUniverse, previously helped develop the self-publishing model at iUniverse.

Gayles to TKA

Jia Gayles has been named promotions/PR director at the Knight Agency. Gayles, who will handle online promotions, newsletters and marketing, was most recently marketing coordinator at an architectural and interior design firm.

Kim to Reagent/RP

Jeannie Kim, who had been acting publisher of Reagent Press since 2006, has officially been given the title. She will continue to oversee all the house’s divisions—Reagent Press, Reagent Press Echo, Reagent Press Classics, Reagent Press Signature Editions, Reagent Press Books for Young Readers, RP Audio, RP Audio Kids and Classroom-to-Go imprints.

Stern to NBN

Eric L. Stern has been named v-p of MIS at National Book Network. Stern, who will start at NBN June 30, was most recently director of IT at a material handling company in New Jersey and, before that, group information technology director at the Philadelphia-based Taylor & Francis.

Conner Up at UC Press

Everett Conner has been named journals manager at the University of Chicago Press. Conner, who will oversee the journals division at the press, was the interim journals publishing operations director.

Gibson Retiring From M&S

Doug Gibson is retiring from his position as president and publisher at McClelland & Stewart, transitioning to a freelance position as publisher emeritus of Douglas Gibson Books. Gibson will continue to oversee the imprint he founded and the books still set to be published through it from his home office. Gibson, who spent four decades in publishing, worked at Doubleday Canada and Macmillan Canada.
