Lockhart, Bolinder to IBS-STL

Two former Zondervan executives are joining the Christian distributor/publisher International Bible Society—Send the Light Global. Doug Lockhart has been named president and CEO of North American operations, while Scott Bolinder has been appointed president of global publishing. At one point Lockhart served as president and CEO of Zondervan, while Bolinder was executive v-p for publishing.

Camille March has been named editor at Black Dog & Leventhal; March was most recently associate director of publicity at Weinstein Books.

Schatz Joins LibreDigital

Steven Schatz has been named v-p of global sales at the digital warehousing company LibreDigital. Schatz was most recently v-p of sales and marketing for North America at Pecaso, an SAP HCM solutions provider (which merged with Accenture). Eric Clark has also joined LibreDigital as v-p of services; Clark was at Model N.

Moynahan to HC Australia

Michael Moynahan has been named HarperCollins's new CEO for Australia and New Zealand. Moynahan was managing director, Random House India, and chairman, Random House, New Zealand. Moynahan, who will take up his post in early 2009, will report to Victoria Barnsley, CEO and publisher, HarperCollins UK and International.

Obituaries: Ted Marcus

Ted Marcus, who worked at Reader's Digest, Simon & Schuster and Creative Homeowner before relocating to Kansas, died on November 10. He was 64. After leaving book publishing, Marcus became v-p for Intertec Publishers (now Primedia Corp). He then went into business for himself as a publishing consultant until May 2002.

Fred Newman

Fred Newman, cofounder of Publishing News and the British Book Awards, died last week. He was 76. Newman, who had been battling cancer, spent three decades in the book trade.
