Coffee Joins Whitman

Margaret Coffee has joined Albert Whitman as v-p of sales. She was previously director of field sales for Scholastic, and before that worked in the sales departments of Candlewick Press and Penguin.

Waddell Moves Up at Interweave

Marilyn Murphy will retire as Interweave's editorial director of the yarn group at the end of the first quarter of 2010 and be replaced by Tricia Waddell, Interweave's editorial director of books. A search will soon begin to find a replacement to fill Waddell's book department role.

Nygaard to Retire from Aschehoug

William Nygaard, president and publisher of the leading Norwegian publisher, Aschehoug, will retire from the company on March 31, 2010, after leading the house for 36 years. Aschehoug is the Norwegian publisher of Margaret Atwood, Nick Hornby, Toni Morrison, Philip Roth, Salman Rushdie and other internationally known authors. A search for his successor is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
