Maccarone to Holiday House

Grace Maccarone, longtime executive editor at Scholastic, will join Holiday House on January 19 as executive editor. Maccarone, who originated the I Spy series, will be acquiring picture books and younger nonfiction.

Kahn to IBPA

The Independent Book Publishers Association has named Chris Kahn manager of vendor relations, advertising, sponsorship, and media partnership opportunities. Kahn, who was most recently Western advertising director for Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and School Library Journal, succeeds Andrea Nathan, who is leaving IBPA at the end of January.

Rados to Chelsea Green

Kate Rados has been named director of digital initiatives for Chelsea Green Publishing. In this newly created role, Rados will be responsible for shaping the overall digital strategy for the company. Rados was most recently director, digital markets, at Sterling Publishing.

Promos at GCP

At Grand Central Publishing Evan Boorstyn, who joined GCP in 2006, was promoted to deputy publicity director; Tracy Martin, who’s been at the Hachette imprint for two years, was promoted to assistant editor; and Latoya Smith, who works on Forever Romance and the imprint’s African- American and Latino programs, was also promoted to assistant editor.
