The Happy and Heinous Halloween of Classroom 13

For the students of Classroom 13, All Hallow’s Eve makes school even weirder than normal: after eating cursed candy, students transform into their Halloween costumes—beginning with teacher Ms. Linda, who is dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. Subsequent chapters, featuring Dreidemy’s quirky line art, introduce the students’ metamorphosis. Lee and Gilbert narrate with appropriately deadpan humor: “He looked around the classroom. There was a pirate and a baby and a two-headed horse. But Benji wasn’t sure what werewolves ate. The pirate looked a little too salty, the baby smelled too stinky, and the horse looked a little too... well, weird.” Chaos ensues, as characters that include a “hockey-playing, crime-fighting, roller-skating, high-flying, part-time nurse, part-time clown, Sasquatch-chicken-octopus” embrace their identities, escape their chapters, and run amok.
