Son of the Golden Turkey Award
Harry Medved. Villard Books, $10.95 (218pp) ISBN 978-0-394-74341-7
The fourth Medved brothers ""fabled fiascos'' of moviedom book, this lists 200 ``turkey titles,'' divided into 23 categories, including ``The Most Unbearable Bear Movie'' (Prophecy and ``The Least Classy Use of Classical Music in Movie History'' (The Brain Eaters. The humor in this arch, misanthropic volume evaporates as the extent of the authors' lack of serious research becomes apparent. For example, the Medveds erroneously perpetuate the myth that viewers of The Tingler in 1959 sat in ``theater seats wired for mild electric shocks'' when in truth buzzers beneath selected seats produced nothing more than slight vibrations. This is only a trivia book in disguise; when the Medveds talk turkey, expect hash. (April)
