In a highly accessible full-color format, the authors take readers on a brief tour of the animal kingdom. Mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, invertebrates and insects are introduced; the information is organized around the concepts of largeness and smallness. While this book is definitely not comprehensive in its treatment of particular animals, habits or habitats, children will nevertheless enjoy the illustrations. And an extensive index will make it easy for them to locate information. A great choice for browsing. Ages 7-11. (Apr.)
