Guia Para Descubrir Tu Cuerpo = A Discovery Guide for Your Body

Gr 3-5-This anatomical text is chock-full of information. The guide is nicely organized into double-page chapters, each focused on one part of the human body. Two ""tour guides"" in the form of a boy and girl, Luis and Isabel, appear in each chapter. Reyes includes difficult medical or scientific terms and uses the layout to make the information more palatable. The consistent use of bullets, inset boxes, and a question-and-answer format do much to make the topics more user-friendly. Full-color diagrams and artwork appear throughout. Unfortunately, the drawings are strangely flat and lackluster, looking more like cutouts than proper illustrations. Also, the cheap paper, in combination with the sub-standard binding, indicates a low production value. Even so, this text could be useful in the classroom or as a supplementary text within a larger collection. MOB
