Fly Me to Paradise
Catherine Andorka. Five Star, $25.95 (284p) ISBN 978-1-59414-953-5
In her second contemporary title (after Once Upon a Secret), Andorka's unusual romance depicts an attractive young widow determined to start a new life at age 31. Just when accountant Madeline Holt believes that she's been successfully impregnated with her deceased husband's sperm, she learns the clinic made a mistake. It turns out that her child was fathered by a brash but attractive stranger, Kurt Williams. At first, both are horrified, but they decide to keep the child and make the best of their unique situation. All the while, Madeline finds the warmth and passion with Kurt that was missing from her marriage, and he finds love that enables him to put aside an immature daredevil streak. While it is touching to see these two lonely souls find paradise in each other, the stilted writing prevents the reader from being swept away by the story. (Apr.)
