A struggling comedian and a single father of two embark on a hilarious romantic journey in this adorable rom-com from Osho (Asking for a Friend). Abi Akingbade has always been told she’s “too much.” Maybe that’s why she’s striking out both with the crowds at her stand-up gigs and in her love life. She doesn’t want to change herself, however. She wants a man who, in her words, “can handle all of me.” While recovering from a particularly bad date at a rooftop bar, she bumps into the charming Will, who may be just such a man. The two instantly hit it off over drinks—but winning over Will alone isn’t enough; he comes as a package deal with his daughters. Now Abi must juggle her comedy sets with her new role in this sweet family unit and put her charm and humor to the test to get the girls in her corner. In Anbi, Osho creates a quintessentially millennial character whose struggles to grow up lead to some laugh-out-loud moments. Though the pace occasionally flags, there’s plenty of humor and heart to hold readers’ interest. Osho’s fans will be well pleased. (Aug.)
