Hark! Angels—and the angelic voices of the Boys Choir of Harlem—harmonize in an illustrated collection of five traditional carols that comes packaged with a CD recording of the songs. Ringgold (Tar Beach ) conjures hosts of racially diverse white-winged heavenly messengers. She depicts the Holy Family and the Wise Men as people of color in a series of folk-art-inspired acrylics.
