Cabin Pressure
Liz Harwell, Elizabeth Harwell. St. Martin's Press, $16.95 (238pp) ISBN 978-0-312-02882-4
The authors, flight attendants of long experience, have collected anecdotes from their own careers and those of others in a volume of entertaining misadventures in the air and on the ground. Many of the stories involve overly demanding passengers who get their comeuppance--like the woman who told an attendant to change her baby, only to get a different infant back in exchange. There are accounts of training school, of inexperienced attendants on their first flights, of crises in food and beverage serving, of lavatory mixups, of the tricks played by flight crews on one another and of emergencies real and imagined. Every page offers at least a smile. First serial to Cosmopolitan; author tour. (June)
