His to Possess
Opal Carew. St. Martin%E2%80%99s Griffin, $14.99 trade paper (288p) ISBN 978-0-312-67464-9
Californian Jessica Long is starting over in Philadelphia after her rocker boyfriend, Storm, abruptly left her. She%E2%80%99s caught off guard when she thinks she sees Storm near her new home, but when the man turns around he%E2%80%99s a handsome stranger, who introduces himself as Dane Ranier. Determined to forget her ex, Jessica allows herself to be seduced by Dane%E2%80%99s dominating charm in an anonymous hotel room. After she agrees to work for him, it doesn%E2%80%99t take her long to throw off her qualms about interoffice romance. Fans of Carew%E2%80%99s sultry novels (Insatiable) may think this a tame set up until Storm re-enters the picture, resolved to get Jessica back. He even agrees to participate in a m%C3%A9nage with Dane to prove his devotion. While Carew devotes most of the book to these and other erotic encounters, her plot-building is skilled enough that the reader cares about the eventual resolutions of all three sides of the relationship triangle.
