Wolf Trap Mmp-1
Frederick Nolan. St. Martin's Press, $3.95 (320pp) ISBN 978-0-312-90393-0
This is a World War II thriller set largely in Germany and Czechoslovakia that dramatizes the furious rivalries within the Third Reich's intelligence system (the SS, Gestapo, Abwehr and Criminal Police). Nolan makes a plausible connection between a British plot to assassinate Hitler (code-named ""Wolf Trap''), Rudolf Hess's flight to Scotland and the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the ``Butcher of Prague.'' PW noted that there is also ``an appealing love story woven into the web of terror and suspense.'' (April)
