Trick of the Light

With a wife, a son and a thriving business, architect Dylan McKain leads an uneventful life in Naples, Fla. Then his wife, Wanda, begins hearing voices in her head, telling her to hide their autistic son, Teddy; after she secrets him away, Wanda is killed in a car accident. Frantic, Dylan searches desperately for his son. Meanwhile, the survivor of the car accident, attractive psychic Chloe Samms, feels compelled to find the missing boy. She tracks down Dylan and contacts the police, offering to help in the search. Dylan is cautious, and when the police declare her a fraud, he rejects her assistance. When their investigation proves unsuccessful, the police give up hope, but Chloe finally convinces Dylan to accept her help--and though the pair does rescue a missing boy, it's not Teddy. Now Dylan is torn between accepting a harsh reality or believing in Chloe's visions. Wainscott (In a Heartbeat) delivers an unusual and satisfying romance with a supernatural twist. (Mar.)
