Baby Faces

This sweet board book features five close-up portraits by Newton of cherubic babies’ faces that change expressions when tabs are pulled. A baby with brown hair and green overalls closes his eyes (“Baby’s eyes can wink and blink”); a blonde baby girl’s hair blows “to and fro” in the wind; and a third baby sticks out his tongue. Loehr’s simple verse and Newton’s rosy-cheeked babies, set against patterned pastel backdrops, offer a concise introduction to parts of the face and what they are capable of. Up to age 3. (May)
