P.J. the Spoiled Bunny

P. J Funnybunny is one spoiled bunny. He always gets his own way. No matter whose birthday it is, P. J. insists on blowing out the candlesor he won't bring a present. When he and his friends play checkers, P. J. has to have the red ones. And when his friends (a pig, a bear and a raccoon) want to sail boats, P. J. is readyto fly his kite. His friends ask, ""Why do we let P. J. do this?'' Finally, they plan a baseball game, though P. J. is assembling his football gear. The spoiled bunny is left in the dirt as everyone heads for the baseball field. P. J. tries to play football with his little sister and her friends, with no success. His friends re-invite him to play baseball, in the outfield. P. J. would rather pitch, but he holds his tongue this time around. With much wit, this book reveals the hazards and unhappiness caused by ``getting your own way'' too often; the lesson is buried so deeply in the humor that few kids will know what hit them. (4-8)
