It’s All Greek to Me
Katie MacAlister. Signet, $7.99 mass market (352p) ISBN 978-0-451-23536-7
MacAlister (In the Company of Vampires) wins again with her signature sass and steam. Author Eglantine “Harry” Knight is hanging out with a band playing a birthday gig on a Greek island. The scenery is fantastic, especially when Iakovos Papaioannou is in sight. The attraction between Harry and gorgeous billionaire Iakovos is immediate and intense, and the weekend trip soon runs considerably longer. Falling in love wasn’t part of Harry’s plan, and between Iakovos’s meddling ex, his troubled younger brother, and Harry’s fumbling attempts to pronounce his last name, it isn’t easy, either. Iakovos’s and Harry’s randy Tracy and Hepburn–esque banter is outstanding, and the characters are sensitive as well as snarky. This delightful and satisfying read is low on conflict, high on humor, and stratospheric on sexy sizzle. (Dec.)
