The Morning After

Temple Banning, a Los Angeles advertising executive, awakes one morning in a luxurious honeymoon suite and finds a marriage license that says she's married to Michael St. Gerard. She's never met St. Gerard, who seems to have disappeared, and she has no idea how she ended up in the hotel. To her horror, she later discovers that she's pregnant. Temple receives a message from St. Gerard, warning her that she is in grave danger and telling her to contact Mark Challis, a military intelligence officer turned PI. Mark reluctantly takes her case after the two are nearly killed in a plunging elevator. After a second attempt on her life, Temple agrees to hide away on Peregrine Island, a high-security paradise off the coast of California owned by Mark's family. Temple begins to suspect that her situation may be related to a deadly virus from Zaire that killed her parents but that she miraculously survived. Despite her fears that Mark may know more than he admits, Temple finds herself irresistibly attracted to him; meanwhile, Mark is having trouble maintaining a professional distance.
