Daddy’s Little Scout

In this sweet and playful dad-and-son tale, a sequel to Mommy’s Little Star, Little Fox and Daddy Fox go searching for a new den in an airy spring meadow. Observing where other animals make their homes, nothing is quite the right fit for Little Fox. “I’m glad I don’t live in here,” he says, splashing his father in a fish pond. “It’s wet and cold and runny.” The foxes find a mound of dirt and dig all afternoon, until they have a cozy den of their own that’s lit up by golden swirls of fireflies.
