Where Did All the Dinos Go?

With galloping rhymes, a goofball sense of humor, and equally loopy cartooning, Benton takes readers on a hunt for dinosaurs within the pages of the book. Most are right out in the open. “Could they be living way out west/ in cowboy boots and fancy vests?” he asks. “Yee-haw!” shouts one dapper cowpoke in response, a green-skinned dinosaur in a lineup of similarly attired humans. Benton’s dinos are as nonthreatening as can be, whether they’re wearing business suits, driving convertibles, or—as they do in the closing scene—showing up to “share” ice cream cones with a pair of happy kids.
