Brown Rabbit in the City

Brown Rabbit is excited to visit Little Rabbit in the city, but Little Rabbit is so energized to show him around that she doesn’t notice that he’s having trouble keeping up. They eat at her favorite cafe, go sightseeing, and dress up for a party, at which point Brown Rabbit leaves Little Rabbit dancing exuberantly under a disco ball. She finds him back at the cafe, where he explains, “I came to see you, not the city.” As in Moon Rabbit, the creamy colors of Russell’s palette evoke both the magic of the city and the importance of trusted companionship.
