Goodnight Prayers

This gentle prayer book has an artful vibe. Mixed media illustrations of stars, animals and children—which have the comforting feel of children's collaged artwork—are paired with more than 40 poems from various sources, includingseveral of Piper's original offerings (“The storm may roar,/ the wind may blow—/ but Love will never/ let me go”). Many are from the Bible, but traditional/anonymous verses, poems and even a Navajo night chant are also featured, giving the small-format book a broader spiritual vision (and audience). Ages 3–5.
