Jed and the Space Bandits

Another sprightly installment in Dial's easy-to-read series. Like the authors' popular Jed's Junior Space Patrol, this story transports readers to Spaceship Ace. Jed, his parents, two cogs (animals that are a mixture of cat and dog), and a teddy bear robot, are out patrolling when they spy a strange spaceship on the radar screen. They enter the ship and find a small girl. Space bandits had kidnapped her parents, but Molly (who has the ability to become invisible after first turning into a pink cloud) managed to evade capture. Jed et al. set about to rescue Molly's parents and bring the bandits to justice. A fast-moving and exciting book for beginning readers; Sis's full-color pictures are humorous and add zest to this lively tale. Ages 48. (April)
