Like the rabbits of the husband-and-wife team's Little Bunny's Easter Surprise, a family of mice gathers to celebrate a holiday. Spowart's fuzzy art is even more tender than usual, but the rhyming couplets, meant to demonstrate Hanukkah festivities, are clunky: ""We give each other gifts;/ our hearts, how they lift."" Endnotes supply an overview of the holiday, blessings for lighting the menorah, a latke recipe and more. Ages 4-8. (Sept.)
