Pet Clean-Up Made Easy
Don Aslett. Marsh Creek Press, $8.95 (134pp) ISBN 978-0-89879-262-1
Self-described as ""America's #1 Cleaning Expert,'' the author of Is There Life After Housework? and Clutter's Last Stand makes a dirty job seem like good, clean fun. His lively, humorous prose, accompanied by illustrations that will warm an animal lover's heart, is highly informative and pleasantly entertaining. An alternate title for his book could be ``How to Safely and Neatly Coexist with Your Pet,'' for Aslett covers everything from selecting the gentlest and least toxic disinfectant to removing skunk odor after your pet has had ``a close encounter of the worst kind.'' In the chapter titled ``Pets Do the Darndest Things,'' Aslett tells how to set booby traps to prevent an animal from jumping on counters or tables and getting into the garbage. He discusses specific products and is detailed in his cleaning methods. Overall, this is a terrific resource for the pet owner who, according to Aslett, gets ``a lot for a little cleaning.'' (April)
