Hunt returns to form in the exhilarating third Malus Domestica fantasy (after I Come with Knives), which reignites the series’s fire with intense action sequences and surprising twists and turns. YouTuber Robin Martine doubles down on her witch-hunting efforts by teaming up with the Dogs of Odysseus, a secret group that collects and safeguards magical relics. Robin and her boyfriend, Kenway, travel to the desolate town of Keyhole Hills, Tex., to meet with the local magicians. While they’re out, Marina Valenzuela and her daughter, Carly, break into Robin’s motor home to hide from Marina’s abusive husband, Santiago. When Robin discovers the stowaways and hears their account of Santiago’s behavior, she realizes he must possess a relic. Robin prepares to fight the power-mad Santiago, but his newfound shape-shifiting abilities make him a force to be reckoned with—and the fight turns deadly. Though some of the twists their battle takes strain credulity, series fans and new readers alike will enjoy the gripping, high-stakes plot as Robin comes face-to-face with unprecedented enemies and her own demon side.
