The Inn at Ocean’s Edge
Colleen Coble. Thomas Nelson, $15.99 trade paperback (336p) ISBN 978-1-4016-9026-7
Coble (Tidewater Inn) doesn’t disappoint with her custom blend of suspense and romance. Claire Dellamare checks into Hotel Tourmaline on the Maine island of Folly Shoals to cement a business deal, but suffers a panic attack. To calm herself, she walks to the ocean’s edge and there has a chance encounter with Luke and Megan Rocco, siblings who reveal a secret from Claire’s past. She begins having flashbacks, remembering her mysterious yearlong disappearance at age four. Claire knows her parents are keeping secrets, and she sets out to discover what happened 25 years earlier. Might her disappearance have anything to do with Luke’s mother’s disappearance at the same time? There are no dull moments here, thanks to three found bodies, five attempts on Claire’s life, a host of horrible secrets, and the handsome Luke. The tale may be a bit over the top, but will surely keep readers turning pages. Agent: Karen Solem, Spencerhill Associates. (Apr.)
