Tempting the Highlander

In Sinclair's diverting fourth McTiernay 14th-century romance (after 2009's Desiring a Highlander), twin brothers Crevin and Craig McTiernay would lay down their lives for the good of their kin; giving up their bachelorhood, on the other hand, is too much to ask. Then Rae Schellden, a Highland neighbor and ally, persuades them to fake a double engagement to his identical twin daughters, Raelynd and Meriel. Laird Schellden vows the ruse will last no longer than one month, and the stakes are so high that the brothers cannot refuse. The only wrinkle in an otherwise perfect scheme is an unplanned love affair between Raelynd and Crevin... who are betrothed to each other's twins. Before it all gets sorted out, Sinclair entertains with noble self-sacrifice, double deceptions, sizzling attraction, and affectionate meddling by Crevin and Craig's sister-in-law. (Sept.)
