Feelings

Familiar animals convey common emotions through body language and facial expressions. A lion's frown, curled-in tail, and droopy mane communicate his sadness ("Lion can't find his friends. Lion feels SAD"), while a crocodile with a sly smile is feeling sneaky about planning a surprise. A shy giraffe stoops low, eyes looking downward, but a happy elephant squirts himself with water, getting ready to see his friends. The final spread has the lion smiling, his friends surrounding him with party hats: "Party Time! Now everyone feels EXCITED!"
