Star Trek Book of Opposites
David Borgenicht. Quirk, $9.95 (24p) ISBN 978-1-59474-519-5
This indulgently geeky board book uses images from the original Star Trek series to introduce words that are opposite (or at least contrary) in meaning. The white Mugato is "furry," while the lizardlike Gorn is "scaly." Smiling Uhura holds "one" seemingly innocuous Tribble to her cheek, while a perplexed Kirk, covered with "many" of the furry creatures, has discovered the real trouble with Tribbles. With a little cross-generational urging, young readers may warm to the 1960s-era stills, but the primary audience will likely be nostalgic adults. All ages. (Sept.)
