Suspicious Behavior: Bad Behavior, Book 2

Witt and Z build on the events of Risky Behavior with a deepening romance and intense suspense. Police detective Darren Corliss is barely recovered from his wounds from his previous adventure and is eager to get back on the job. With his policing partner, Andreas—who’s also his romantic interest—he is assigned to cold cases as punishment for having uncovered a network of corrupt officials. Instead of tedium, Darren finds a pattern among the case files that reveal a killer with a job to finish. Witt and Z repeat some material from the first book and frequently parallel earlier events with new situations. Nonetheless, the mystery is creepy and the strengthening relationship is charming. Though several points are left unresolved, it seems likely the series is an intentional serialization of the full drama that will unfold for these characters. (Aug.)
