Gaddy shines in this small-town charmer, the third in her Montana Made series (after The Christmas Cowboy). Following Sierra Evans’s divorce from her cheating ex-husband, she treats herself to a Las Vegas getaway. There, she meets army vet Connor McFarland at the craps table, and the pair share a memorable one-night stand. Both kick themselves after parting for not exchanging full names or contact info—until fate intervenes. Sierra relocates to Marietta, Mont., for a job as a flight nurse—only to discover she’ll be working closely with Connor, a flight paramedic. Their chemistry is strong as ever, but Sierra’s ex-husband was a coworker when they started dating and after that relationship ended in disaster, she made a promise not to mix business and pleasure. Connor sets out to persuade her otherwise, but his plans hit a bump when Sierra’s ex-husband comes to town hoping to win her back. Gaddy makes Sierra’s choice between the men emotional by showing how it’s about more than just her two suitors, but also about finding the courage to take a risk. The tight-knit supporting cast—including some familiar faces for series fans—adds heart. This sweet tale satisfies. (May)
